Unexpected stalling issues.

Hi All
Has anyone else experienced their 959 unexpectedly stalling? This has happened to me twice now and the first time I almost came off the bike as I didnít realise it had stalled and I released the clutch and the rear wheel locked. This has happened in two very similar circumstances where I have been riding the bike for 30 or 40 minutes so itís warm and all seems fine. I have then been approaching either a traffic light or intersection on a downhill Ė I start breaking and changing down through the gears and when the clutch is pulled in the bike stalls without warning. The first time I did not realise and was almost flicked off the bike when I let clutch out and locked the rear wheel. The second time I realise it had stalled and kept the clutch in the just restarted my bike.

I also have a Monster 659 and rode the same sections of roads and did the same braking and changing of gears and donít have the same issue.
Anyone else experienced similar behaviour on their 959 or want to hazard a guess as to the reason as it has made me a little wary of the bike now?

Simon

This has happened to me twice, where the engine just cut out... but I haven't posted about it because I'm not sure what made it happen. It hasn't happened again since - that was about 300 miles ago.

happened to me more than 3 times about 600 miles ago. Especially during downshifting gears 3 to 2 and 2 to 1s it would stall. It would start again on bike speed momentum after quick clutch release. It made me wonder but it does not doi it anymore.
Either I am not doing rough downshifts anymore or engine and transmission finally working properly after brake in period

Hi Tomi and Dingo - thanks for sharing, I thought at first it might just be me. My bike is only a 200km's away from its first service so hopefully it will settle down.

Do you guys live in areas where there is a big difference between the elevation of the roads you usually ride? As in, you'd be riding at sea level, then the next day maybe 2000ft above?

This happened to me twice over the weekend. Once I was shifting up from 2nd to 3rd and once I was taking off in first. Weird...

Yes it is weird - I also still have the 'cold start' problem which I don't believe has been resolved by Ducati yet. So now I have a bike that takes 4 or 5 attempts to start when it's cold, and sometimes stalls unexpectedly when it's hot? This is the 4th Ducati I've owned and ironically it's the only one I've bought brand new and that's had these types of major issues :-(
