To help out..I build custom bikes and also a lot of modifications across various bike platforms. In my quest to modify the 959 to a hybrid 959s model (something Ducati should have done). I plugged in a 1299 dash, I couldn’t initially start the bike and after some work I got it started but errors were major as the ECU and parameters of the 1299 technology is far more advanced than the 1199 base and s range. The 959 is more similar to the 1199 than people realise and as such it is far more compatible to tweeks swaps and changes. I’m working on the electronic suspension conversion at the moment, will keep all informed of progress. Also building a harness and ECU program, basically taking it back to basics then to add in electronic suspension additions, re worked head mapping (1199 top end install) for fuel trim/ tuning, engine parameters, etv,rpm, gearing etc. should give us a program that can be built for a flash upgrade, it’s going to take time though it’s pretty complex. Outcome will be less compatibility issues for general upgrades.
