A full Akra system will cost you about Can$5000 that will yield approximately an additional 10HP.
However, this kind of extra cash would buy you a 1299 with 40 more HP. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Published prices for both the full Akra Evo system and the Akra Slip-On per the screenshots grabbed from the following Ducati official websites; Canada, US, UK and Euro (Italia).

Yes very true but then you wouldn't have a bad*ss "Middle Weight" weapon... AKA Sleepergale!

Why a performance exhaust is so sweet on a Ducati:

  1. That "SOUND"!
  2. Allows the bike to breath unrestricted (stock exhaust are very restricted and it effects the power range in all RPM's.
  3. Huge weight reductions

Cheers!

When I bought my Monster I ordered a full Termi system. I want to say it was around 3 grand but it transformed the bike. It dramatically improved low rpm fueling and got rid of that terrible stock system. For the Pani, I think paying 33% of the purchase price for that system is a bit overkill. The bike is plenty loud to me in stock trim, surprisingly so. At this point, I won't be getting the Akro system. It's just way over priced I think. Who knows. I won't be tracking this bike to I think most of my mods will be cosmetic.

So far I'm impressed with the stock fueling on this bike. The 1098 was also pretty hideous stock and at low RPM. The 959 has no such issues that I can tell thus far. If I was able to negotiate a solid price not he Akro, maybe but I'm really leaning against it at the moment.

I do agree with you 100% the stock fueling is amaziing on this bike. One of the best out of the box for sure. And the stock exhaust does sound good.

Way to get us all jealous Rucks.

Did the full akro come with it's own ECU for that hefty price or will you be flashing the ECU?

Has anyone heard of any other brands coming into the mix or does Akrapovic have the deal locked up with ducati on this bike? $3500 for slip-ons is a bit crazy! I paid less than that for my full Ti system on my 1199.

The Panigale's don't need all new ECU's like the older Ducati's. The ECU are now flasable with a "Up Map" key. When you buy the offical Ducati Performance Akrapovic Exhaust it comes with the proper "Up Map" key that reflashes the stock ECU. This has to be done by a Ducati Dealer using the DDS service system.

Great question! Currently Ducati partners with Akrapovic and is the only exhaust the is sold at authorized Ducati dealers as part of the "Ducati Performance" line for the Panigale, therefore the only exhaust that comes with the "Up Map" key for ECU reflash.

from other forums I read Tuneboy can give another few hp with Akra so in theory 959+Akra+Tuneboy can be around 175hp bike... that's about the same as Honda Fireblade
