959 Termi adaptor

Hey guys I am new to the forum and looking for an answer!

I picked up a 2016 959 and am currently prepping it for the 2019 race season. I have found a number of threads about this topic, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer...so your help will be appreciated

I realize the 899/1199 has a different exhaust from the 959/1299. However, there seems to be mention of a Termi link pipe that can be used to fit a 899 exhaust on a 959.

I can only find the link pipe that will allow the front exit exhaust to be installed D155Y1299 from the motowheels site).

I have found a number of used REAR exit 899 exhaust for sale but not really any Front Exit exhaust (I would prefer the rear).

Does the mentioned Termi link pipe work for the rear exit exhaust as well? If not is there a link pipe that will allow a 899 rear exit to fit?

Thanks again

Joe

The mufflers fit all Panigale models exc V4. The link pipe is needed for the 959/1299 because it uses a V-band clamp where 899/1199 uses a 3-bolt flange. You can see the clamp just below exhaust valve near the rear tire under the swingarm.

What exact link pipe is this? I've only found a link pipe that says it fits the front exit Termi D155102CPT.

Is there a link pipe to connect 899 slip-on 96480221A to the 959 stock header pipe?

Not sure I thought it fit both but have not verified it yet.

I assume the D155Y for the 899 will have the 3 bolt holes around the flange, while the D155Y2 will just be the rounded flange with no bolt holes?

They use the same stock photo for both sizes.

So if I am reading this correctly, you could use the 899 exhaust on a 959 and vice versa with whichever link pipe mates to your mufflers?

Like if I wanted to run 1299 header pipes but mate them to my 899 termis... you would use the D155Y2 to do so? Where can one purchase just the link pipe?

That's the idea. I'm currently working on this project now. I have on order the 899 Termi Slip-On and the D155Y2 for my 959. If it goes as well as I think it will, the adapter will allow the slip-on to mount to the stock 959 header pipe.

The D155Y2 adapter is available from several ebay sellers. I ordered it for $150 shipped. Comes from Italy.

Technically, the D155Y/D155Y2 are made to mount the front exit D155102Cpt termis to the 899/959. But I'm hoping the rear exit 96480221A termis has the same inlet size and positioning so the adapter fits.

Will do. I'm feeling pretty confident about it. Another user in another thread said the adapter worked perfectly with the Akra mufflers on his 959. He says it bolted right up.
