I have always worn ear plugs. Yet, I'm now suffering from Tinnitus which I believe started as Panigalus Tumultum. The Panigale series has an inherent flaw in this context as the exhaust is located directly below the rider's helmet and the sound resonate upward. At a minimum, you should always wear good quality ear plugs. Moreover, in addition to your track helmet, do consider purchasing a quiet helmet for the street, one preferably with a thicker neck roll. This may help delay Ducatinnitus.

I hope it goes away soon. Bummer indeed.
Thanks for the best wishes Pard but unfortunately, it's irreversible.
All I can do is deal with it and not make it worse.

Hopefully the guys will wear ear protection when exposed to long term high decibels such as riding the Panigale.
I'm actually surprised the US version 2019 Panigale 959 is still Euro 3. Probably the last year however. Euro 5 is kicking-in for 2020 with much stricter emission standards. It's going to affect sound levels but to what extent is to be determined.

For sure. I always wear ear plugs when I ride, once you get used to ear plugs it feels very wrong if you forget to put them in. Great advice for all you youngsters out there, just do it and thank us later.
I suffer from tinnitus too and the Panigale doesn't help matters. I went the extra step and had custom ear plugs made (about $200CAD). People didn't believe me when I told them that 2-3 hours (or more) on the Panigale with ears unprotected is not pleasant. To me ear plugs are mandatory and if you can afford it get custom plugs. I had a set made and then lost one. For a while before getting a replacement I had to go back to ordinary foam plugs and much prefer the custom plugs for fit and performance.
