You might find it hot under the seat
You might find it leaks coolant
You might find the front lever is squishy
You might find you get left behind by litre bikes
You might find it rides like a bucking bull in low speed traffic.

But you might also find how nice It rides in the corners, or the sound it makes at full throttle!, or the attention It brings just parked at the local cafe..........

@D-StyleNZL with the great list. I'd add on that:
  • You might get a lemon with the cold start problem
  • For sure if your bike wasn't assembled with some threadlocker, you'll be losing bolts overtime if you don't check on them
  • For sure the OEM mirrors are designed to show buzzy blobs, not clear reflections

Congrats on the bike! Ducati is a unique brand of motorcycle, and their super bikes are at their best when ridden in an open environment at speeds. Defiantly not the best choice for stop and go city traffic. If you're not used to a Ducati twin then it may take some getting used to. But I believe once you get a feel for it, it will definitely bring a smile to your face. (if not sooner)

Where are you getting the bike from... Two Wheels World? I buy all of my OEM Ducati parts from Pure-ducati.com and Adrienne is a pleasure to deal with. I ordered my Dainese race suit, Rizoma parts, and they even found a way to get a Yoyodyne slipper for me.

Welcome to Ducati and be forewarned, that redhead can get fairly moody, but just treat her well and she will reward you in kind.

@9five9 Welcome to da forum.
Mixed feelings on this board about engine braking and torque. Personally, I just love it. As Dougy mentioned, the big twins need some getting used to especially if you come from a silky smooth line four. Stay out of traffic, twist the throttle and you'll love this nimble & visceral big guy.

Appreciate the thoughts. When you've been married a bunch of times, a temperamental sport bike doesn't seem all that scary. 😏
I've probably read almost all the posts and still am excited about the 959. It takes my breath away, so I figure that's a good sign. No other bike I've owned over the years has had that affect.

Hey sinjin,
Yep, Ian and his dad Bill couldn't have been cooler at Two Wheels Pompano. They've done the NRC tidy tail and put the comfort seat on for me for my pickup this Friday. Already planning a ducabike clear clutch cover after the breakin service. May try the shift tech engine covers later if summer riding in Florida happens to be a tad warm this year...
Plan mostly on using it to make my Cross State Commute more fun. Four hours across Florida in a car or...

Check.

I used to leave my garage light on so every time I walked by the door it would put a smile on my face. All of the Panis are so beautifully crafted, I was content to literally just stare.
