Anyone tried the designcorse (or other) Carbon passenger seat cover?
Saw DJ Shrug took the heatshield off and it looks awesome. Anyone else try that? Side effects?
Thoughts on the ducabike clear clutch cover?
Factory settings or recommendations? I'm 6' and 185 lbs.
Best luck with security? Alarm, disc lock and/or chain? I have a garage, but thinking for any other times. Don't really want to ride with a 15 lb Mr T Starter Kit around my neck. (Look it up kids)
After the initial 600 mile breakin varying below 6,000 rpm, manual only recommends 7,000 for the next 900 MILES!!!
Seriously?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice in advance

DJ have you posted pics after the heatshield removal? I've always thought that heatshield was the one thing that detracted from this bikes looks, like a pretty girl with a massive wart right between her eyes....

@9five9 we are located in Miami and can get you the Full Six carbon products for your 959. We use them on our own bikes, and on all customer bikes. Great quality and fitment.

Just for continuity from other post, I wouldn't say there's any benefits or drawbacks in terms of heat. Still haven't ridden in 90+ weather yet. Hottest was earlier this week (~83) and was still kinda "meh" to the heat. Helmet heat is probably the only consistent, noticeable change.

I was going to get the Ducabike clear clutch cover, but probably not anymore since I've started seriously tracking my 959. Ducabike came out recently with a revision to the cover so the original is slightly cheap right now. Was gonna go with the black pressure plate, red ring, and black clear cover. Seems like there's not much leaking problems.

Best "security" for your bike is honestly just good full coverage insurance and a garage. If thieves are after your bike, they're gonna get it. Sure deterrents are going to shoo away the lesser thieves, up to you how much time you want to spend securing it each time you ride.

There's a pretty good thread on here regarding Engine break-in. @Cazzo posted his ranges which are pretty good to follow. Break-in isn't only for the engine, but also the transmission and suspension.

I have the Ducabike clear clutch cover installed on my 899. I wasn't aware of any updates or revisions and would be interested in the details. However, I do know that CNC has come out with their own version. Either will certainly be a conversation starter and always captures people's attention.

Yeah just noticed it last week so not sure how long its been out. New revision made the cover two pieces which allows usage of the clear cover SLI01 slider similar to the other clear covers for other models.

Last image is of a Hypermotard/Multistrada/Monster clear cover with the SLI01 slider on it.

Hey, thanks for sharing that...!

I like the H/M/M cover exposing the clutch fidget spinner!

When both the engine and the outside temps are low, the oil sometimes has a tendency to show a little or to mist up the glass. However, while running or soon after riding, the clutch itself is clearly visible.

it's plastic, isn't it? not glass? or at least on the new 2017 updated version it says it is...

Yes, indeed it is. Glaring mistake on my part. Thanks for catching that.

:grin2: Never went away, just haven't been posting much since I wadded up my ZX-14 back in April.

+1.....that looks bad azz, I'll have to try it if there's not much difference in the heat factor.

DJ, what metal polish did you use and did you hand or machine polish?
