Hello all,
Does anyone else find that the DP race seat causes excessive pressure right between the inside of your legs and butt, right in the area just beside your groin?

I'm thinking I may have to ditch the seat and go back to the stock seat as I have put several hundred miles on the race seat and each time I end up with the same uncomfortable result....

Really?
I have one and would not return to the stock seat. Personally, I find it much more comfortable than the stocker and the grip is awesome.

Have you guys experienced excessive wear on the race seat? I've read that it can wear out quickly but I have no personal experience. I would love a seat with some more grip.

Can't hurt to switch back, or you could try the comfort seat.

How tall are you @jleosnow? I'm 5'10" and don't find the original seat uncomfortable nor gives me any high pressure zones. It's just counter-intuitive to me; why did you get the race seat in the first place?

Are you sitting on the seat in a completely forward position (ie. not mid-centered or with your butt touching the pillion seat/cowl cover)?

I'm 5'8". I got the seat to try to achieve a bit more comfort. What I can say is the seat is certainly more ergo friendly than the stock seat. I have tried sitting forward and further back with my butt touching the pillion and just can't seem to find "the sweet spot". :-(

I had the race seat on my 899 and now have the comfort seat on my 959.
Its heaps more comfortable as the name suggests. The foam is a lot softer than the race seat
and it still holds you in place quiet well. Well worth the swap if you do long rides.

The feedback from the race seat was better at the track though as the bumps are transmitted straight
to your butt so you know exactly what the tyres are doing. Just like a race seat should be.

Thanks for that info but I still am not seeing any reference to wether the comfort seat is actually a different foam and/or more comfortable than the race seat.... Am I missing that info in the thread?

Thanks!

I agree with the post that @Sqweegel wrote although "heaps" may be a big word.
I've ridden all three seats back to back and the comfort is marginally taller, softer and shaped differently than the race.
"Marginally" being the operative word here. Because the comfort seat is about a 0.5 inch taller, it does put a bit more weight on your wrists.
