Hi,

I'm looking into having xpel paint protection film installed on my 959 and my detailer is looking into whether they have a kit for our bikes. He says they have kits in their system for the 15' 899 and 1299. Would anyone be able to tell me if the 1299 kit might work? I think I've read in another thread that the 899 fairings are different so that kit wouldn't work. Thanks D

899/1199 fairings definitely have a shape difference than the 959/1299. I believe the 959 and 1299 fairings are mostly the same, but there is a major difference on the lower left fairing where the stator cover is. Can't really see much else different.

Nothing to be seen with part number differences (959 red / 1299 red):

• Lower Left - 48013831AA / 48013333AA
• Upper Left - 48013791AA / 48017132AA
• Lower Right - 48013841AA / 48013355AA
• Upper Right - 48013801AA / 48017142AA
• Gas Tank - 58612061AA / 58611923AA
• Front Headlight - 481P3631AA / 481P1182AA
• Tail Left - 48212151AA / 48212021AA
• Tail Right - 48212161AA / 48212031AA

I attached screenshots of the relevant spare part catalog pages, but you'll quickly notice that they've only changed the graphics to reflect naming changes (959 Panigale vs 1299 Panigale) and not geometry changes.

Photos of the two show the lower left difference, but other than that, I believe they are identical in geometry. Hope this gives you some help.

The 1299 kit should work because its pretty much identical bodywork
