Hello All
Haven't owned a motorcycle since the late 90's but had seven of them previously and road raced for a year back in the late 80's. Started out slow on a Garelli Moped, then to a
81 Kawa 440
82 GPZ 550
84 Ninja 900 (raced this one in amateur OPEN)
82 KZ1000R Eddie Lawson Replica
91 Honda VFR 750
95 Honda CBR600F3 sold in 97 in order to start racing bicycles and get in better shape to race motorcycles again. Enjoyed the competition so much that I raced mtb and cyclocross for ten years. Knees are starting to go and have always wanted to own a Duc. The 959 seems perfect but am unsure of what to expect since I've been gone so long. I was originally thinking of a Daytona 675R but went to the Bike Show last weekend, saw the Panigale and well I'm sure you guys know that that goes...Reading as much as I can but it'd help me out if some of you owners who came from my era could let me know how much performance to expect from this thing.
Much Appreciated!

It's pretty hard to not be happy with the 959 Panigale. The less powerful ones are fun too. There may be other bikes that would be easier on your knees. Have you though of getting a non-sport bike?

Knees are only an issue when pedaling a regular bicycle up hills or walking alot of stairs. Motorcycles are not an issue. Still like carving corners and want to take this thing to trackdays. Just need to know if the performance of this bike is a significant step up from the dinosaurs I used to ride.
Welcome to the forum! Maybe you can take one out for a test ride at your dealership if they have one and feel the difference.

Glad to hear that since some people I know with the same issue on bicycles also have it on motorcycles, but it only shows up after riding for a long time.. an hour or so. Probably has to do with the leg being in one position for so long.
Welcome to a great community.
Welcome to a great community.
It sure is.

Been here for a long time and overall people here have been nothing but helpful to just about anyone.

Hopefully it stays that way as the forum grows, since some forums don't.
