Hey Everyone, My name is Vinny and I'm new to the forum here. I recently traded in my 2015 white 899 for a 2016 white 959 due to a slew of issues on the 899.

I'm an engineer by education and have 5 years of experience working for GE but a few years ago switched into medical device sales. Besides working and riding the new Duc, I play ice hockey and hang out in NYC.

I transferred over my NRC fender eliminator kit & Ducabike clear clutch cover from my 899 to the 959. Now I was able to add in the red retaining ring, that was a nice surprise! Like many of you, I ordered a Zero Gravity SR dark smoke screen about 3 weeks ago but due to the heavy backorders, i'll be waiting. Lastly, because of all the road construction going on, I recently installed a radiator protector.

Bought Motul 300V 15w-50 and an OEM Filter, 2x seals and crush washer for my first service which I'll probably do in 3 weeks being I only have 75 miles on it so far.

I look forward to being a part of the community here! Hopefully I can meet up with some of you guys and go riding sometime soon!

Best Regards,
Vinny

Welcome to the forum Vinny. Surprised you were able to transfer over the NRC FEK from the 899 to the 959, they should be different.

Welcome to the forum, great choice there on the 959! I'm glad I didn't get the 899, loving this beautiful machine! I have 546 miles on mine and can't wait to do the 1st service! After that it's a whole different machine!

Where u hang in NYC?

The FEK from the 899 is the same with the exception of the hardware. I called up NRC and for $18 or $20 they shipped me the different "bolt I needed" it's basically a tiny bit shorter. They also sent me new double-sided tape but you can pick it up in homedepot and cut it in half yourself. If you have any questions about doing it let me know.

Hey Dingo,
Not sure how to do the replies on the forum but hopefully this works. That's awesome man! I'm only at 121 now. Plan on putting another hundred on tomorrow which will be nice. I live in gramercy near Union Sq. Are you familiar with the area? Are you living out in Cali still? I lived in LA for about a year and a half starting in 2013.

@Vromano2 - know the area pretty well, lived in NY for 34 years... I used to service Olives in the W at Union Sq... if it's still there! Got my haircut at Astor Pl every week downstairs... the memories! That was back 2002-05. Moved out of NY in Dec 2005 to FL. Been here in CA since 2013. Staying here forever - it's tremendous! It'll be even better once I hit the tracks!!!

I can't wait to start playing with the ABS settings, Engine Break and Power, and Traction Control... as well as tweaking the suspension for me

Hey Vromano2! Sorry I didn't see you post up in new members. Welcome from a fellow New Yorker! I also traded in to get my 959. I parted with my first Italian love - a 2009 1199 S. I'm nostalgic, but I definitely love my new girl more. I really don't have any mods on my bike to speak of. Swapped those terrible stock mirrors out for some bar end CRGs and NRC block-off turn signals and fender eliminator. Put on a set of T-Rex Racing sliders and spools. I think that's it. No performance mods yet, as I haven't been able to go any track days to see if any are needed. If you want to meet up for a ride, just PM me and we'll set something up. Gotta go - work calls. Again, welcome aboard!
