I recently bought a lightly damaged 959 which will not start. I changed the fuel, checked all the connections etc and still nothing.

I have checked the rear cylinder (because it is easier to get to) and there is no spark. Does anyone know if the computer kills the spark if anything else is wrong?

The fuel pump makes all the normal noises and it cranks over strongly now that I have put a new battery in.

I even tried the ECU and Mitsubishi fuel control modules from another running bike but that didn't help. I also disconnected the dash in case it was telling the bike not to run (I know they will run without a dash connected) and that didn't help either.
And of course I have it in neutral etc.

Any ideas on the missing spark guys?

OK cancel that question - I just found the problem. Looks like someone had subtly sabotaged the wiring - probably hoping it would sell for less that way at auction.

I managed to work it out using another bike for comparison.
