PROTI Forged Titanium Fasteners
Once I had the bike in the garage and spent countless minutes just sitting and looking at the lines and beauty of the shape, one thing stuck out to me - the black fasteners holding the beautiful matte white fairings together. That's when I decided to look for a fastener that looks the part and belongs on this majestic machine.
I went online and started with the current MotoGP and Superbike pictures of bikes, hoping to find the name of a company that I can reach out to. I found several companies making anodized, relatively cheap-looking screws that would work, but that's not the goal. That's when I came across PROTI.
After reading all the information I could find about them, titanium metal casting and forging in general, and of bolt making, I sent them an email after visiting their website. I couldn't figure out which fasteners to purchase. A quick, friendly response including the Spare Parts Catalogue (SPC) put it all in perspective. The website references a page and part number in the SPC for the given Application; eg.- Front Fender_P140 (POS5) = Page 140 in the SPC, Position 5 in the diagram.
I was on my way and placed my order within a week. Disclaimer - these are very expensive fasteners. It took about 5 days to arrive from Taiwan. The packaging is impeccable and the product is just the same, if not better. These are extremely beautiful and solid fasteners - I HIGHLY Recommend them to whoever wants a top-tier fastener that looks like it belongs on the Mars Rover :wink2:
