All, a quick question.

I need to purchase one oil filter cover screw... that 8mm hex head screw, of which there are two, that are shown as "3" in the attached photo.

These are well documented to be 8mm heads... but if I'm reading the workshop manual correctly, they are listed as "M6" bolts.

This seems confusing to me. Shouldn't they be M8? Or maybe these are not the "oil filter cover retaining screws"?

Can anyone clarify?

An M6 designation is the size of the threaded portion of the bolt, of which the head must be bigger or it’d be a threaded rod.

Strange, then, that the workshop manual would say the length of the bolt (20mm), the size of the threads (M6), the thread pitch ("x1") but not the size of the head of the bolt (8mm)!
