Hey guys,

Just wondering if this is a known issue or something specific with my bike.

When my engine temp is 80c + my gear shift lever gets stuck in first. I've warmed up the bike and put in on a stand then attempted to change gears with my hand but no luck. It seems to be hard to recreate at times, I've taken it down for the dealer but worked fine on the day.

Soon as the bike cools down, the gears shift perfectly. Anything higher and it's a nightmare. Since this has only started happening after the first service, I'm starting to wonder if they've put the wrong oil in it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

To clarify, when you say your shift lever is getting stuck in 1st, do you mean that the action of shifting from 2nd or neutral into 1st gear results in the lever binding (ie. the lever does not return to the neutral/middle position)?

Or do you mean that you cannot shift out of 1st gear?

If its the first, then that's a pretty nasty problem to have.

If its the second, then more likely than not, you just need to load the transmission a little to allow the gear selector forks to mesh.
