Picked up a new Helmet yesterday at my dealer. They had a 50% off flash sale so i couldn't say no. Almost bought two lol. Can't wait to get my bike finished as a track bike and do some dates late july when my collarbone is finally healed.

@wxwax - I was privileged enough to be able to install the FLIR "gumball" on a private yacht at DCN in Nantes, France a couple years ago. Amazing IR camera with tracking - similar to what you use on that warship I think. Is the IR feed viewable by both pilot and systems engineer? I recall the yoke to control it was just like your standard flight yoke with high hat and all... very cool!

Awesome. Yes, we have at minimum two independent systems for both the pilot and copilot/gunner which are slaved to the crewmember's line of sight (or head position) or can be fixed to the nose of the aircraft. They are selectable and can be viewed from the helmet mounted display and/or on "glass cockpit" displays.
I bought this helmet the day I picked up the 959. I love this helmet. And I think it looks good with the red 959. I got the photochromatic shield for it also. It's really cool how it darkens as it's exposed to sun and clears back up when there isn't sun. For bright sun you definitely also need sunglasses. But I'm really enjoying it so far: Shoei CWR-1 Transitions Pinlock-Ready Face Shield - RevZilla
I attached a bunch of pictures of the helmet. I can post some pictures of the shield darkening if people are curious.
Oh no way! They make photo chromatic for helmets. I guess I didn't think of how they work. I do have a pair of photo chromatic snowboard goggles that vary from 17-33 percent, so I shouldn't be surprised that they make it for motorcycle helmets. Do you know how much the light filter varies. I know on goggles even 17 isn't that dark. On a sunny day 5 percent is the way to go, but one is dealing with the reflective properties of snow.

That's what the f*ck I'm talking 'bout right there.
Congratulations. I've been debating getting this helmet for a while.
Would love to hear your opinion after use.
