Tale of Two Panigales!

As you might have heard, for the 2016 959 Panigale Ducati has been forced to offer two distinct exhaust systems.

Euro 04 emission rules have forced them to forego the beautiful underslung exahust we've grown accustomed to thanks in part to the 899, 1199 and 1299 Panigales.

In markets where Euro 04 regulations are in effect the 959 will get a double shotgun exhaust exiting on the right side. For non Euro 04 markets the traditional underslung will stay.

I wonder what the cost will be to purchase the belly pan and new exahust... I also wonder how difficult it will be for euro shoppers to get around that fugly exhaust...(actually it's not that bad at all)
It`s fugly compared to the underslung exhaust. The cost will depend on which aftermarket exhaust you go for if you do decide to change it out. Think the termignoni Ducati Panigale titanium slip-on exhaust is around 2k.
One reason i'm glad i don't live in europe, would hate to get that exhaust setup. lower mounted is the way to go.

it will be more then just a slip on. You will need to change the full system if you don't like Euro 04 look.

I actually dont mind the shotgun...
The shotgun doesn't look bad but the non euro 959 looks a bit more sleek with everything centered. I assume anyone who can afford a 959 Panigale can afford a new exhaust system if they don't like the stock one.

It's just a pain in the ***. It's not just the system, you'll also need to remap the bike. Easily $2K+ for the full system, re-map and labor.
That's a lot of coin to spend and time as well too.

Overall i'm happy with how the non-euro version looks, doubt i'll be changing anything. Always liked how the 899 sounded, this should sound just as good or better in its stock form.
