I fill up as soon as the light comes on...

I do that too - head straight for fuel at the first sign of the light.

@YOGI-G - I think Ducati uses a thermistor to sense the level of fuel left in the tank

The remainder of fuel from when the fuel light comes on is in the lines and still in the tank - about 5 litres still in the tank
