the brackets will not allow the filter to be removed or replaced without them coming off but now getting them back on while in place is a a real booger to say the least.

Any advice? I don't want to pull the whole tank off

you don't have to pull the tank off, just prop it up with a hammer - loosen the 2 bolts at the front of the tank then disconnect the pump and ground wires at the seat. Then follow the directions in the service manual. I didn't pull the tank off to change mine.

Were you able remove and replace yours leaving brackets attached to the screen piece? I'm trying to put the brackets on once it's in there and it's very tight.

Did you have to remove anything to allow you more room?

I have watched the 899 video a million times but the 959 has a lot more pieces between the filter and the intakes than in that video. The 959 filter won't come out or go in without having to turn it sideways and with the brackets on it it won't go in at all.

Thanks
